It’s subtle, slightly tart and easy for a crowd to make a pitcher to share with friends. I garnished with thin slices of orange, lime and a mint leaf. It’s simply La Pinta Pomegranate Tequila Liqueur, lime juice, Agave nectar and I added a good squeeze of ripe, fresh orange. Not my kind of place for dinner but good for drinks if you don't mind the prices.I followed their recipe for the simple cocktail that is lightly tart, not sweet but easy to drink called the Pomerita. Not sure if our guy just had too many tables or if the group upstairs was the issue but small things like clearing the table, bringing silverware for our main course etc we're neglected-I eventually just got up and retrieved some fresh silverware from a near table rather than wait for our missing waiter while the tiny tacos got cold. However the most surprising note about our visit was the weak service. While things were tasty, to me the prices were astonishing. shrimp appetizer (3 shrimp-$20), Mexican corn (about 3/4 cup of corn -$10), steak tacos (3 -3" tacos for $20). Note: portions are small and prices high-I.e. Their food is described at "Latin" and as our waiter explained it was a fusion of Peruvian, Ecuadorian and Mexican-inspired dishes with tacos an other small plates. It's a great spot to enjoy a tasty (although pricey) Mission Margarita and I wouldn't hesitate to make this a drop in spot for a drink.Īlas, we had made reservations for dinner and were seated at a small table next to the stairs leading up to a large event space on the second floor (a group of conventioneers headed up while we were dining on a Saturday night). The ceiling stretched at least 30 feet above the large bar area surrounded by some small tables. It's hard not to be wowed when you walk into this soaring structure with a night-club-vibe, pulsing music and gleaming amber tiles. The Mission should be an absolute go-to for anybody in the area. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is lively and inviting, and the staff is friendly and attentive. Overall, we highly recommend The Mission to anyone looking for a great meal. However, the food is worth the price, and the service is top-notch. The only downside is that the prices are a bit high. The restaurant is a must for anyone visiting Scottsdale. We have been to The Mission a few times and are always impressed with the food and service. The filet was tender and juicy, and the flavor was incredible. We also ordered the filet, which was cooked to perfection. The guacamole was made fresh to order and was perfectly seasoned per our preferences. We sat at the bar and ordered the table-side guacamole, which was amazing. The staff is very friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is lively and inviting. Still a fantastic place and one of my Scottsdale faves. Our server was a really nice guy, but maybe had too many tables? He kept forgetting things we had asked for.not the end of the world. The fish was a bit hard and overcooked, which was a bummer but the client I took out thoroughly enjoyed their filet. The halibut was fresh that night, so I ordered it. I'm ranking it in my top 10 guac of all time. We got their table side guac spicy, with everything in it. They almost tasted like a Chinese Mu-Shu dish, save for the delicious crunchy CORN pastry around them that was a wonderful surprise. Not to mention the prickly pear margaritas are delicious.Īt the table we ordered the Duck Empanadas. They asked if we wanted to be seated early, but the bar is so cool we hung out there until our appointed time. The massively high ceilings, the glowing decor, the friendly service. The ambiance/vibe there is so cool and unique. I reserved a small business dinner on a Friday and The Mission came through.
